HP Laserjet Pro MFP M479fdw Review
In August 2019 I found out that we were closing our business premises in the City and were moving the offices to our home. This was great news! I would finally be able to work from home full-time. I was already working for 3 days at the office and 2-4 days at home.
By working full-time at home, I could set my own schedule and integrate household tasks, gardening, taking care of wildlife, birds, dog and cat, as well as do all the administrative work for my husband's business. I recently started my online business and I will even be able to integrate all the work for it as well.
Update on April 12, 2022: My husband has retired and closed his company. I am now working full-time in my online business. The printer is still doing an excellent job. We never experienced any problems with it.

My Opinion About The HP Laserjet Pro
Pros
- I love all the functions you get with this printer, double-sided print option, copier, scanner, and fax (if still needed).
- Its wireless function is very reliable and can even be used with smartphones and iPads. We have 2 smartphones, 4 iPads, and 3 laptops hooked up, and we can work anywhere in the house and even outside in the garden or gazebo.
- It prints on any type of paper. Be it cheques (a bit thicker) or regular paper.
- It wakes up from sleep modus almost instantly and goes back to sleep quickly. There is no audible noise in sleep mode. This is really great because I sometimes work right beside the printer.
- The toner never dries up (unlike the inkjet printer) even if the printer is idle for a couple of weeks (during vacation).
Cons
- I had difficulties setting up the scanning function, and I needed help from an IT specialist, who is a friend of mine.
- It is very heavy, and my husband and I had to carry it upstairs together.
- The software installation and connecting it to the wireless was a bit demanding for a non-technical user.
- A laserjet printer, of course, is not very good for photo scanning and printing. For this function, it is best to use an inkjet printer.
